the sun shines down
warming my face
but nothing can compare
to the warmth of your hand
clasped in mine
you’re mine to hold
forever and for always
you’re the one i think about
the only one i dream about
because i love you
I sat and thought
For hours on end
about a plate of sunshine.
something sweet and kind
i thought,
things racing through my mind
something cute and colourful
with sparkles and glitter galore
but nothing i thought fit right
so i searched my brain for more
the it came to me
an idea so bright
it made my hands and legs and feet
shake in my own true fright
a plate of sunshine has no sparkles no kindness no glitter galore
it has no colour form or shape
just something true and pure
it is what you make of it
a forest or a candle brightly lit
flames of a fireplace
swans flying in their grace
a plate of sunshine is different
for each person who thinks of it
are all different themselves
each plate is stacked up neat and tidy
all polished on their shelves
Little by little it builds up
Small feelings; just like
Water droplets
It goes up
And up
Repeats going up
And when I noticed it
Your words became sweet restraints
I sank deeper into you
You became my paradise.
I fall into a delirium
As your kiss leaves me breathless
And stunned;
Take me in your arms- hold me close
As the flame becomes a funeral pyre.
